OK, I'll admit it, WYSIWYG might be the answer if you need to make something bold, or italic, or add a heading. But is providing Microsoft Word in a textarea the best way to give your clients control of their content?
Drupal's fields are an amazing way to steer content creation and provide an easy way to ensure consistency. So when it comes to giving end users control of their content, why has so much emphasis been on ignoring the incredible power Drupal gives us and shoving everything into a textarea?
Let's talk strategies of ensuring our end users can layout their sites the way they need to, while keeping them away from WYSIWYGs which, let's face it, will often end up ruining your hard work.

I definitely agree with your
I definitely agree with your thesis, Jennifer!
Fields system is really awesome. And now I'm using its power widely instead of all these WYSIWYGs.
Looking forward for the "hot" discussion!
